Indonesia: Mob Attacks Church in Aceh

Compass Direct reports that on September 1, an angry mob set fire to an Evangelical Mission church in Aceh province of Indonesia, where state law was replaced with Shari’a earlier this year.  The church was torched after a mob of angry Muslims came to argue with the pastor, who had organized a revival service with 500 Christians in attendance.  Indonesian police took the pastor into custody and dismissed the crowd.  Later that night armed men destroyed the church and a neighboring building which had housed a kindergarten, causing around $20,000 worth of damge.  The pastor, Luther Saragih, and his wife are currently in hiding.
