China: Bishop Arrested after Celebrating Funeral Mas

AsiaNews reports that Msgr. Martin Wu Qinjing, Catholic bishop of Zhouzhi, was arrested without charges and taken into custody by police after he celebrated a funeral mass despite government threats.  Though the Holy See approved Msgr. Wu’s 2005 ordination, the government deemed it “illegal” and has repeatedly warned him “not to behave like a bishop”.  Police were reported to have interfered whenever Msgr. Wu officiated at a religious ceremony.
