Pakistan: Christian Schoolgirl Beaten for Refusing to Remove Cross Necklace

International Christian Concern reports that on September 13th, 13-year-old Karin Shahzadi, a Christian schoolgirl, was beaten by her teacher for refusing to remove a cross necklace.  Shahzadi, a pupil at the Government Girl’s High School in predominately Muslim Kasur, refused her teacher’s request to remove the necklace, and as a result was beaten and mistreated both by her teacher and principal.  When Shahzadi’s father attempted to complain, the school threatened to expel the girl, and the local police refused to register the incident.
