UK: Teacher Awarded Victimization Settlement After Refusing to Remove Niqab

The Guardian reports that Aishah Azmi, the West Yorkshire teaching assistant suspended for refusing to remove her niqab in the classroom, has been awarded 1,100 GBP for victimization and “injury to feelings” despite the ruling that she had not been discriminated against or harassed.  Azmi was suspended earlier this year with full pay, and continues her suspension following the tribunal ruling.
