India: Convert Charged with “Insulting Religious Beliefs”

Compass Direct reports that on October 24, police in Madhya Pradesh arrested Ramesh Thakur, a recent convert to Christianity, and attempted to pressure him into framing his pastor for forced conversions.  When Thakur failed to comply, he was charged with “insulting religious beliefs”, the same charge that had been brought against his pastor, Jagdish Bharti, last June.
