Iran: Three Sufis Arrested Last Year in Clashes With Government Are Sentenced

Radio Free Europe reports (third item from the bottom of the page) that authorities in Qom have sentenced three members of the Nematollahi Gonabadi Sufi order, as of November 1.  1,000 members of the order were arrested last February when police tried to close a Sufi house of worship, saying the group had illegally turned a residential building into a religious center. Those convicted were given sentences ranging from 100 days in jail to over $4,000 in fines and ten years of exile from Qom.
