Morocco: German Tourist Jailed for Distributing Information on Christianity

Reuters reports that a German tourist, Sadek Noshi Yassa, was fined 500 dirhams and received six months in jail for trying to convert a Muslim to Christianity.  Yassa, 64, of Egyptian origin, was arrested for distributing books and CDs about Christianity in Agadir, Morocco.  Attempts to “shake the faith of a Muslim or to convert him to another religion” are punishable by up to six months in jail under Moroccan law.
