France: Sikh Petition Fails

The Times of India reports that a petition for the right to wear the turban, filed on behalf of Sikh students staying in France, was dismissed by the French courts during the second week of March, though the group plans to file a petition with the European Court of Justice. France has banned religious headgear since 2004, which has resulted in several Sikh students being barred from classes for their refusal to remove their turbans.
