Iran: Bahá’í Schoolchildren Suffer Increased Harassment, Violence

Bahá’í World News Service reports that Bahá’í schoolchildren in Iran are increasingly subjected to harassment and abuse at the hands of school authorities. From mid-January to mid-February alone, there were 150 cases of mistreatment reported, including one where a student was blindfolded and beaten. Bahá’í children are said to be asked more and more frequently to identify their religion, but in doing so risk persecution and in some cases even dismissal from school.
