Uzbekistan: Websites with Religious Content Blocked by Secret Police

Forum 18 reports that access to a popular religion news website, www.portal-credo.ru, has been blocked, allegedly by Uzbekistan’s secret police, the National Security Service. The country has had a history of limiting access to certain sites, specifically those concerned with politics, regional news, blogs and religious affairs. Internet companies in the country blame the problem on the state internet provider, Uznet, though Uznet claims the most recent block is the work of the secret police.
