Slovakia: Government Officially Recognizes Bahá’í Faith

Bahai World News Service reports that the Bahá’í community in Slovakia has been officially recognized by the Slovak government, making them one of seventeen official religious groups in the country (the other groups are mostly Jewish and Christian). Following the declaration, Bahá’ís will now be allowed to own property and distribute religious literature in Slovakia, as well as engaging in various other activities as a community. The community took their final steps towards applying for legal recognition in April, which included gathering 28,000 signatures of support for their application from other adult Slovak residents.
