Belarus: Pastor Imprisoned for Religious Activity

Forum 18 reports that Pentecostal pastor Antoni Bokun has been arrested for a second time, following his participation in a June 3 service at the John the Baptist Pentecostal Church. Officials handed him a three-day prison sentence for “leading worship without state permission”, making him the third person in the post-Soviet history of Belarus to serve time for religious activity. Later that evening, Belarus state television broadcast a program on the “dangers of neo-Pentecostal sects”.
