Burma-Myanmar: Two Convicted of Insulting Religion Through Prayer

TWANTE – A court has sentenced two supporters of opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi to 18 monthis in prison after they prayed for her release at a Buddhist pagoda in Twante, BBC reported on June 21.  The two supporters, Chit Pe and Aung Saw Wei, were convicted on charges of insulting religion.
