Uzbekistan: Government Charges Church for Running Summer Camp

TASHKENT – The Baptist Union is facing criminal charges by the City Prosecutor’s office for allegedly teaching children religion and using their property to host a summer camp, Forum 18 reported on July 28.  If convicted Pavel Peichev, the leader of Baptist Union, may face a large fine, confiscation of Church property and imprisonment.  The Baptist Union has denied the charges.
