Of Particular Note: Mongolian Government Threatens to Close Church Serving Homeless Children

The Becket Fund has sent a letter to government officials in Erdenet, Mongolia regarding the threat of confiscation of property of Light of the World, a Christian church that takes care of local homeless children, calling their attention to the international treaties that prohibit such restrictions on religious liberty.  Commenting on the letter, the Becket Fund’s Luke Goodrich said:  “Religious liberty is not a threat to a free society, but a tremendous force for social good,” and “When local bureaucrats trample on the rights of religious groups, everyone loses, especially the homeless children served by Light of the World Church.”
