Netherlands: Prosecutors Refuse to Try Prophet Caricature Case

THE HAGUE – Prosecutors declined on August 18 to put far-right MP Geert Wilder on trial for distributing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammed, AFP reported on August 18.  The prosecutors released a statement that said: ‘The cartoons are about the Prophet Mohamed, but don’t say anything about Muslims. None of the cartoons are offensive towards Muslims or contribute to hatred, discrimination or violence against Muslims.’
