Egypt: Officials Arrest Protesters Opposed to Bahai in Their Community

CAIRO – Police arrested at least 50 protestors on July 27 who opposed the rumored resettlement of members of the Baha’i faith in their village in Ezba, a rumor the government called unsubstantiated, AFP reported on August 27.  In April, the entire Baha’i community fled their homes after neighbors set fire to four of their homes in the southern village of Sharoniyah.
